Atrophic vaginitis is thinning, drying, and inflammation of the vaginal walls caused by a lack of estrogen. Atrophic vaginitis most often develops after menopause, although it can also develop during breastfeeding and other conditions where estrogen production decreases.

In many women, atrophic vaginitis makes intercourse painful. The health of the reproductive system is closely related to the health of the urinary system

There are simple, effective treatment methods for atrophic vaginitis The decrease in estrogen causes changes in the body, but this does not mean that you have to live with the discomfort of atrophic vaginitis for the rest of your life.
Atrophic vaginitis is caused by a decrease in the production of estrogen Estrogen deficiency causes thinning, drying and loss of elasticity of the vaginal tissues

Decreased estrogen levels and atrophic vaginitis can develop:

  • Pre-menopausal years
  • During breastfeeding
  • After surgical removal of both ovaries (surgical menopause)

Atrophic vaginitis can affect you several years before menopause or it can appear many years after menopause. Not all women develop atrophic vaginitis after menopause Maintaining an active sex life contributes to the health of the vaginal tissues
